First Post

Eric and I

I am very excited about starting a blog for my precious baby who is on the way. Lily Kate! I am very new to all of this, so it will probably take me a while to figure it all out, but hopefuly I will get it! My husband and I are expecting our first baby around May 28th. We are very excited!! We wanted to keep this blog about Lily to share pictures and thoughts with family and friends, and I wanted to get it started before she was born! I have loved reading other blogs, and hope you will all enjoy reading ours! That is all for now, but hopefully I will learn how to get some pics up on this site soon!

Congratulations on your baby girl!!! I can tell you, this is the most wonderful experience. Enjoy every second though; I never believed the people who said "they grow so fast" but Addison is almost 8 weeks and I can't get over how big she is already!

Thank you for the comment on the hairbows! I found the crocheted headbands on ebay by searching crochet baby headband. I found a seller who had 24 for $18! Wow! They sell for a LOT more in boutiques, and I wanted plain ones that I could clip different hairbows on. I have several that have bows attached, but you're sort of limited that way. And my mom and I have started to make bows. She made them for my sister and I when we were little, and with a quick refresher, she was off to the races! Grandmothers love to do things like that! Anyway, here's a link to pretty easy directions! Enjoy and good luck with that little one!

Oh yeah, I need to check the brands on some of the hats and let you know. Most of those have come from local boutiques. Wait until she gets a little bigger--I've got some GREAT ones! Try looking up "screaming beauty flower pageant hats." I think that's one of the brands.

One more thought and I promise I will quit. The flower that is on Addison's head in our blog header is just a silk flower that I got at Hobby Lobby for like $1.50 glued on an alligator clip. You just cut the stem off the flower, then pull the green thing off the back of the flower and hot glue it on the clip. I have added rhinestones to some of them, too!
